Luna de Miel....Honeymoon...Cancun!!

So off we were to sunny and lovely Cancun, Mexico for our 5 day honeymoon!! It was muy bueno y maravillo!! It seems like our 5 day stay was absolutely perfect because of all the Mexican sun, Mayan ruins, sandy beaches, Mexican music (just Drew liked that), and the all- inclusive tropical drinks that we enjoyed.

So we arrived in Cancun on a Monday and enjoyed our day getting settled in and hanging out on our hotel’s little beach. It seemed like we owned the beach at night because everyone left to hit up the clubs. We would just lay out on underneath the little tiki hut things and drink our pina coladas watching the waves roll in all by ourselves.

After going to a required time- share presentation… we finally had so time on Tuesday to do something without hearing about how “good of a deal” it would be to get a time- share!!! Our “90 minute tour” lasted a whopping 3 ½ hours!! But oh well, it was required so we did it. It gave us some will power to just say no to every offer.

Wednesday was such a blast! We went on a tour to the ancient Mayan city called Chichen Itza. There, we were able to see Mayan ruins on a very hot day in the Yucatan Peninsula. The main feature of the ancient city is a gigantic temple/ pyramid which was built to incredible architectural standards. It was breathtaking. People used to be able to walk up to the top of it, but because of some vandalism, they have shut it down to tourists. But it was interesting to see these very old city walls, temples, towers, pillars, and marketplaces that were built so many years ago and that remain here to this day. On the way back we were able to eat at a real authentic Mexican restaurant end our tour.

So Thursday was our beach day where we spent all day soaking up the rays and relaxing on the beach after a couple hours of ocean swimming time where we body surfed and just messed around in the ocean. (which by the way is a very nice and clean). After such an amazing day we came back to our hotel all sunburned and beat up from the sun and wind. So Friday’s plane ride home wasn’t to fun because of our sunburned bodies…

We had a blast and that is really all we need to say about our honeymoon. It was so much fun and we still talk about it all the time!!!! GO CANCUN!!!
